Being a Pastor Amidst Deconstruction

Tuesday, March 31st
12:00 PM ET

Deconstruction often strips away performative religion, cultural Christianity, and inherited assumptions. What remains—if shepherded well—is a more honest, owned faith. There is an invitation to move from certainty to curiosity and image to integrity. Many people are no longer satisfied with shallow answers or formulaic spirituality—they need something real, authentic, and free from simplistic answers.

As a Pastor, how do you lead a church where large portions of the congregation are experiencing deconstruction? We can engage those who are deconstructing without it threatening us. Should you affirm all deconstructions? Do you push back against it? Do you facilitate safe spaces for it? Are discipleship and deconstruction connected? What are the impacts of deconstruction on a congregation?

Both Taeler Morgan and Dan White Jr. have pastored and planted in Churches that are thick with deconstruction. Both had to develop intentional habits and processes for engaging this reality in their post-evangelical cities.

In this webinar, we will explore:

  • Pastoral wisdom and leading in deconstruction

  • Discover helpful practices for a congregation

  • Unpack the honest realities of facing this moment

  • Hear actual tools and practices for spaces of deconstruction

Workshop | Friday, 1pm
Attuned Gatherings: How Scripture and Science Shape Transformative Community
JR Woodward & Jessie Cruickshank

We were created to gather—but not all gatherings form us in the same way.

What if discipleship is less about content delivery and more about attuned relationships? What if Scripture and science are telling the same story about how transformation actually happens?

In this immersive workshop, we will explore the science of attunement alongside biblical wisdom to reimagine Christian gatherings as spaces of identity formation and belonging. Participants will discover the four spaces of belonging, learn why misaligned expectations often undermine community, and uncover core biological and biblical principles that foster trust, resilience, and transformation.

Designed for leaders of house churches, small churches, Bible studies, and missional communities, this session draws on neuroscience, sociology, and biblical theology to offer both practical wisdom and embodied practices to help your gatherings become places where people truly flourish.

Workshops
The Neuroscience of Transformation: How Multipliers Are Formed
JR Woodward & Jessie Cruickshank

Most discipleship still follows a classroom model—information from the front, little transformation in real life. But God designed us to change through relationship, not lectures. When we align with how He created the brain to grow, transformation stops being exceptional and becomes normal. Multiplication begins to flow through ordinary people. This session will let participants experience how environments shape us, explore how the brain is wired for change, and leave with a simple relational framework that empowers you—and your community—to multiply transformation.

Becoming Good News: Multiplying From Your True Story
Jessie Cruickshank

Research shows that many believers—and even leaders—feel inadequate to make disciples. But those feelings come from false narratives. They are not the story God tells. You were created to embody Good News. In this session, we’ll look at some key false narratives that hijack the story God and silence multiplication in our lives and communities. By crafting a “story map” of your own context, you’ll be able to gain clarity and confidence in the story God wants to tell through you—because multiplication starts when our true identity speaks louder than our fears.
